Bernard Creature Design

Bernard is a character/creature that is from the hack-and-slash game concept Stretched Canvas. It's based inside of a Surrealism painting, hence the horror aspect of Bernard's design. Bernard's character was created to be an enemy that you face, with a terrible backstory. He was backpacking in Europe and visiting a local museum when he was sucked into the painting. After surviving from monsters for months, his body began to succumb to the magic of the painting. He began to lose his mind, while his body mutated and became what it is today. Now he has no memory of who or what he was before, and merely has a desire for food.

Side note: everything for Bernard was created in ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Maya.
These screenshots show the gradual transition from wireframe, mesh and my original texture/paint. Texture and paint was something I struggled with, so the new and improved version is in the turntable animation.
The texture maps go in order of: base color, height, metallic, normal, normal open GL, and roughness. They were all created in Substance Painter and then exported to Maya.
